I'm on a mission to paint my kitchen cabinets and to find the best paint and process. How has this paint held up after 5 years? I see a lot of newer videos using Beyond paint kits. But I don't care for the eggshell finish in a kitchen. It also seems like Beyond paint doesn't leave the smoothest finish.

Tradies told be to use Benjamin Moore on my outside walls - big mistake, it was too expensive to flake so quickly, and only a year later, I've gone with an equally expensive but different brand.

I just found your channel and it gave so much information…thank you! My kitchen is 24 years old and I want to paint the wood cabinets (dark blue on the bottom and white on the top, with brush gold hardware). I am in a mobile home and the cabinets are made up of different materials, wood for the base, doors and drawers but a cheaper fiber board on the sides of the cabinets. Plus the trim around the top of the cabinets appears to be plastic 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. I was told that to spot paint each area with primer and if the primer adheres well, then I should be okay to paint. Any thoughts or suggestions? Also, I am also painting my master bathroom (made of the same materials) as my test project…wish me luck!! Thanks again for the simple yet complete process. It has given me the nudge to follow through with the project.

great video! I plan to buy paint grade cabinet doors to refresh a half bath vanity. They are already sanded. Do I need to prime first? And I presume that after each coat of paint, I should use the velour roller (that is, even on the 2nd coat)? Am I likely to need a third coat, given they've not been painted or finished before?

I’ve painted over my wood cabinets and they are chipping in places. I did not sand or prime the first time. Can I paint over them again without having to sand? If so what steps do I take?

what about using all chaalk paint for the project? that is what I bought And people say no??? why?? I found the perfect color in,chalk paint for cabinets now I don’t know why and you primed with chalk??

Congratulations you are the first person to paint cabinets that I’ve seen who uses a velour roller but you might not be aware that Sherwin Williams colors to go do not contain some of the additives that their regular paint contains such as bonding agents. Just because it comes in a quart size bottle doesn’t mean they don’t make it in massive quantities and they are able to sell it so cheaply because it’s not true paint, but your work looks great very professional looking, I’ve been painting for 40 years so I know.

I am curious. You did not sand first? Most videos I see on this do sanding.

Very helpful. I would suggest actually doing the painting instead of the dry brush. You could always do the dry brush with the dialog, but maybe a time lapse of the actual painting.

I am painting over dark grey with bright white. Should I use primer

Stumbled upon your channel in my first attempt at painting my cupboard doors and everyone wants to take the doors off……you’ve made what what going to be a huge task to tackle a little easier and less daunting …….love the little dance at the beginning …. I’m going to give that a go to hype myself up 😂
